Phase 2. Week 5
Day22 Monday
As it was a Monday, I did not have any scheduled teaching hours. However, I received a substitution period in the 8th standard, which I utilized to distribute the answer sheets of the achievement test to the students. After distribution, many students raised doubts regarding certain questions. I addressed their doubts individually and discussed the test questions in detail, explaining the correct methods of solving them. This session helped students understand their mistakes and identify areas that need improvement.
There were no special programmes conducted at the school on this day. During the remaining time, I prepared for the diagnostic test scheduled for the next day by completing the necessary arrangements and planning the test items. Overall, the day was academically productive and well utilized.
Day 23. Tuesday
Day 23 of teaching practice was academically meaningful, with two teaching hours scheduled during the fourth and sixth periods. In the fourth period, I conducted a diagnostic test for the students. The test consisted entirely of multiple-choice questions and was conducted smoothly. Students participated actively, which helped me assess their understanding of the previously taught topics.
During the lunch break, I evaluated the answer sheets and identified the areas where students faced difficulties. Based on this analysis, I prepared a remedial teaching plan aimed at strengthening those weak areas. In the sixth period, I conducted a remedial class, where the challenging concepts were explained again using simple examples and guided practice. The students responded positively, and the session proved to be effective and successful.
