Phase 2. Week 7

  Day 27. Monday

As it was a Monday, I did not have any scheduled teaching hours. I remained in the classroom throughout the school hours and utilized the time productively. The day was calm and routine, with no official programmes or special activities conducted in the school.

Day 28. Tuesday

On Day 28 of teaching practice, I handled two teaching periods in class 8F during the fourth and sixth hours. In the fourth period, I taught the topic “Diagonals of a Parallelogram.” To make the lesson more student-centred, the class was divided into suitable groups, and each group was provided with a parallelogram figure. Students were asked to draw the diagonals and observe their properties. Through this hands-on activity, students were guided to understand that the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.

In the sixth period, I handled the problem lesson related to diagonals of a parallelogram. The problems were given as group activities to encourage discussion and collaboration. A PPT was used to explain the concepts clearly and to support visual learning. Overall, the day was productive, engaging, and satisfying.

Day 29. Thursday

The second last day of teaching practice followed the regular school schedule. I had a teaching period during the second hour in class 8F, where I taught the lesson “Diagonals” from the chapter Parallelogram. The lesson was planned as a problem-based session focusing on both understanding and application.

The problems included one construction question and one proving question. Students actively participated through group discussion and collaborative problem-solving. They showed keen interest, especially in geometrical drawing and construction, and most of them handled the geometrical instruments confidently. Peer interaction within groups helped students clarify doubts and learn effectively. No special programmes were conducted on this day.

Day 30.  Friday

The 30th day of teaching practice, 16th January 2026, marked the final day of the second phase of my teaching practice. I had my teaching hour during the sixth period, during which I handled a short lesson on the topic “Area of Parallelogram.” To make the lesson more activity-oriented, activity cards containing figures of parallelogram were provided to the students. These activities helped students visualize the concept clearly and understand the relationship between the diagonals and area.

After the activity, application-level problems were discussed to reinforce the concept. Follow-up work was also given to assess students’ understanding and ensure continuity of learning. The session was conducted smoothly, and with this class, I successfully completed the second phase of my teaching practice. The overall experience was enriching and helped me gain confidence in classroom management, activity-based teaching, and effective student interaction. I left the school after the regular school hours.
