Week 11
29/09/2025
Week 11 of my teaching practice was a relatively calm and smooth week. I did not have any scheduled teaching periods during this week. However, I was assigned a substitution period, which gave me an opportunity to engage with students and continue the learning process effectively.
During the second hour, I handled a substitution class for Class 8. I continued teaching the chapter “Solution of Equations.” To make the lesson more engaging and interactive, I used a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) along with activity cards. The PPT helped in explaining the steps clearly, while the activity cards encouraged students to actively participate in solving the problems.
The students showed keen interest in the lesson and actively involved themselves in the activities. With minimal guidance, they were able to arrive at the correct solutions, which reflected their understanding of the concept. The interactive approach helped in maintaining students’ attention and made the class lively and learner-centered.
There were no special events or issues in the school on that day. The school functioned as usual, and we left the school at the regular time. Overall, the experience was positive and reinforced the importance of using teaching aids and activities to enhance students’ learning and participation.
03/10/2025
On 3/10/2025, I had my regular mathematics class during the sixth hour in Class VIII F, and I also received a substitution period in the same class during the previous hour. I effectively combined both hours and continued teaching the topic Quadratic Methods from the chapter Solutions of Equations. The session was highly productive, and I was able to complete the lesson within the allotted time. To make the learning more effective, I used a PowerPoint presentation for clear explanation and provided activity-based group work to encourage student participation. The students actively and enthusiastically took part in solving the problems and showed a clear interest in applying algebraic methods. Their responses reflected a good understanding of the concept with minimal guidance. There were no special events or programmes in the school on that day, and the school functioned as usual. We left the school at the regular time.
04/10/2025 (Saturday)
On 04/10/2025, which was a Saturday, it was a working day for the high school section. I reached the school by 9:00 a.m. On that day, the school followed the Monday timetable, and classes were conducted only up to 1:00 p.m. As per the Monday timetable, I did not have any scheduled teaching hours. I remained in the classroom throughout the school hours and effectively utilized the time to prepare lesson plans for upcoming classes and to complete various academic activities. There were no special programmes or events conducted in the school on that day. I left the school at 1:00 p.m. as scheduled. Overall, it was a calm and productive day, devoted mainly to preparation, planning, and academic work.
