Week 12
6/10/2025. (Monday)
On 6th October 2025, the day was calm and productive. I did not have any regular teaching periods, but I was assigned a substitution period. During this period, I began a new lesson titled “The New Number.” I introduced the topic by relating it to real-life situations such as the use of numbers below zero in measuring temperature and representing bank balances. To make the lesson more engaging and effective, I used a PowerPoint presentation, and the visual aids helped the students to understand abstract concepts like negative numbers easily. The students responded actively and grasped the concept quickly.
After the lunch break, I utilized the free time to collect data from students for my practicum as part of the school-based activity related to social metrics. The students participated in this activity with great interest and cooperation. There were no special programmes or events conducted in the school on that day. The day went smoothly, and we left the school by 4:00 p.m. Overall, it was a productive day, as I was able to manage both teaching and practicum-related tasks effectively.

October 8th was a regular Wednesday at school. I arrived at the usual time and had my class during the third period. I continued teaching the chapter New Numbers, focusing on the lesson Subtracting Again. To help students understand the concept better, I used different activities along with a PowerPoint presentation, which made the lesson more engaging and clear.
In the afternoon, I distributed and discussed the answer papers of the achievement test conducted the previous day. This helped students identify their mistakes and clarify doubts. During the final periods, we completed the last lesson of the chapter, Subtracting Again, through a problem-based approach that encouraged logical thinking and application of concepts.
There were no special programs on that day. I completed my duties and left the school at the usual time.
9/10/2025 Thursday
October 9th was a smooth and regular school day with no special events. During my assigned period, I conducted a 10-mark diagnostic test with objective-type questions for selected students who required evaluation, while the remaining students continued with their regular classwork. Adequate time was given to help students attempt the test comfortably and demonstrate their understanding.
After collecting the answer sheets, I evaluated the responses and identified areas where students faced difficulties. Based on this analysis, I began planning remedial teaching for the next day. Overall, the day emphasized the importance of continuous assessment and thoughtful planning to support students’ academic improvement.
