The major objectives of the camp were to promote social accommodation and broaden the mental abilities of student teachers. It also aimed to inquire into the cultural, social, educational, and environmental aspects of the community, and to develop an interest in training both the body and the mind for a well-balanced personality. Through shared living and group activities, the camp sought to nurture cooperation, leadership, discipline, and social responsibility among participants.
Throughout the five days, a wide range of meaningful and engaging activities were conducted. These included visits to community institutions such as an old age home and a church, health awareness and cancer prevention sessions, disaster management training, confidence-building programs, value education classes, and sessions on Theatre in Education. Zumba sessions were also included, which energized the participants while promoting physical fitness and mental well-being.
Daily assemblies, yoga, reflective discussions, newspaper reading, cultural programs, games, and group activities organized by different student houses enhanced unity, creativity, and leadership skills. Overall, the Samanyuaya Community Living Camp was an enriching experience that strengthened community bonding, professional competencies, and contributed significantly to the holistic development of the student teachers.
