TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE 2

 The second phase of my teaching practice commenced on 3rd November 2025. Just like the first phase, I was allotted Vimala Hridaya Girls Higher Secondary School, Kollam, which gave me a sense of familiarity and confidence as I stepped into this new phase.

During this phase, I was assigned Class 8F as my practice class. Meeting the students again in a new phase of teaching practice was both exciting and challenging, as it motivated me to improve my teaching strategies and classroom management skills. My concerned teacher was Miss Prameela Pious, whose guidance and support played an important role in helping me plan and execute my lessons effectively.

The first week of the second phase helped me settle into the classroom environment quickly. It provided me with opportunities to reflect on my strengths, identify areas for improvement, and apply the feedback received during the first phase. Overall, the beginning of this phase marked an important step in my professional growth as a teacher.

Week 9

15/09/2025.(Monday)  It was a bright and lively day at the school. Being a Monday, I reached the school on time. I had no regular class scheduled for the day. The UP section had their Sports Day, and the whole campus was filled with excitement and energy. The sports day began by an inauguration ceremony and flag hoisting by the guest. There was a march past conducted by students from NCC, JRC, SPC etc. During the third period, I got a substitution in Class 8 F, where I managed the class and ensured discipline was maintained. We, the teachers, were not assigned any specific duties for conducting the sports activities. This gave me the chance to observe the students as they participated enthusiastically in different events. The program was lively and well-organized, and it created a cheerful environment throughout the school. Phase 1. Week 4

 The week was filled with new beginnings, valuable feedback, unexpected challenges, and meaningful learning experiences. Each day brought something different, reminding me how dynamic a teacher’s journey can be. Here's a reflective summary of my week: Monday – 4th August 2025 There were no teaching periods scheduled for me today. I stayed in my allotted class and used the time to stay updated with my preparation and observations. Though I didn’t teach, it gave me a calm start to the week and space to get mentally ready for the lessons ahead. Tuesday – 5th August 2025 Today I had two classes and introduced a new chapter – Polygons. I used the Concept Attainment Model, which turned out to be both effective and engaging.
